The Inspiration Behind the Design
This sweatshirt was inspired by the essence of pond hockey—the raw, nostalgic feeling of playing the game outdoors. Whether it's watching kids skate on frozen lakes, reliving classic hockey moments, or getting lost in legendary films like Slap Shot, Miracle, and The Mighty Ducks, that energy is what we wanted to capture.
We set out to create a sweatshirt that feels like a memory—one that brings you back to crisp winter air, skates on rough ice, and pickup games with friends. The "Pond Hockey Invitational" might not be real, but that fits right in with the Camp Nisswa spirit—a fictional camp built on the stories, traditions, and experiences that make this area special.
A Nod to Minnesota's Hockey Roots
Pond hockey is where the game began—under the open sky, on ice that’s as gritty as the play itself. While modern rinks have taken over, there’s something timeless about the way Minnesotans once learned to skate—out on the frozen lakes, bundled up, playing until dark.
