If you're looking for a new place to grab a bite in Brainerd, Minnesota, then you might want to check out the Gas Can Bar and Grill. This establishment is a fairly new addition to the area, having opened its doors in December 2021. It's conveniently located off 371 and is attached to the gas station in front of Brainerd International Raceway.
One of the highlights of the Gas Can Bar and Grill is its large outdoor area in the back, which is perfect for enjoying the summer weather. But even if you visit during colder months, it’s a great place to stop and grab a bite to eat.
During our visit, we were impressed with the variety of items on the menu (Menu located down below), which includes burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, salads, and baskets. We stopped by on a Monday and were happy to find that it was ½ price burgers. However, we couldn't resist trying the steak sandwich, which was the lunch special for the day, as well as some wings. All the food we ordered was delicious, and we were glad we stopped by.
The Gas Can Bar and Grill also has a full bar that offers a variety of drinks. If you're looking for a deal, be sure to check out their new happy hour, which runs from Monday to Thursday from 3-5 pm and 8-10 pm. During this time, you can double up on the same drink for only $1.

On Tuesdays, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat ribs and chicken, while Wednesdays offer all-you-can-eat steak and shrimp. Thursday is Pasta Night, and Fridays and Saturdays have prime rib, shrimp, and walleye specials. On Sundays, you can enjoy wings for only $0.75 each.
Overall, we had a great experience at the Gas Can Bar and Grill. It's not a large place inside, so it can get busy in the evenings, but that's just a testament to how popular it is.
