February 23-25, 2024
The Gull Lake Frozen Fore is one of the most anticipated winter events in the Nisswa and Brainerd Lakes Area. Despite uncooperative weather conditions affecting many winter activities, the organizers of this event persevered, ensuring its successful execution. Typically hosted on Hole-In-The-Day Bay with a tent set on the ice, this year's event had to adapt due to unsafe ice conditions. The Brainerd International Raceway graciously hosted the party tent on their track, providing a fun and exciting alternative venue.
In this recap, we share our experiences and highlight activities surrounding the event. Though we are not affiliated with the Gull Lake Frozen Fore, we are big supporters of local events and appreciate the collective efforts of the businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and the event host, Gull Lake Events, in making this event possible. This event is not only a fun experience but also serves a meaningful purpose by supporting great causes, including the Confidence Learning Center and The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes.
Day 1: Opening Night at the Tent
The festivities commenced on Friday with the Frozen Flop, uniquely held in a pool this year due to the ice conditions. The Frozen Flop attracted a considerable number of teams who contributed funds to take part in the event. The evening continued with a tent party featuring live music, food, and entertainment. Performances by AJ Spoff and 8 Foot 4 set a lively tone for the weekend.
Day 2: Frozen Fore Mini-Golf Events
Saturday marked the main event of the festival, beginning at 10:00 AM. Participants were shuttled to various locations for mini-golf games, activities, and food, concluding at 6:00 PM. Each location, themed after board games, presented unique challenges and entertainment. Highlights included:

The event wrapped up with a food fest featuring dishes inspired by the board game theme. Our top three favorites were the Ramen Bowl from Zorbaz on Gull, Twisted Chili from The Side Track, and Pac-Man Cookies from Quarterdeck Resort.
