If you're looking for a breakfast spot in the Brainerd & Nisswa Lakes Area, The Spot 371 is the place to go. Located right off Highway 371, next door to Salvage Sisters, it's an easy stop whether you're heading up north, spending the weekend at BIR (Brainerd International Raceway), or just looking for a good meal to start your day.
But more than the food, The Spot 371 is about Glen—the guy who built it, literally, from the ground up.
Glen’s Field of Dreams aka The Spot 371
When Glen opened The Spot 371, breakfast was always the dream. But dreams take time—and money. The cost of the exhaust hood, flat top grill, fire protection system, and other equipment made it impossible to start with a full breakfast menu. So, like any smart business owner, he started small—just bagels and coffee.
But Glen never lost sight of the vision. He watched as customers came in looking for a real breakfast—and then left when they realized it wasn’t on the menu. That’s when he knew:
“If you build it, they will come.”
So he got to work. Over the first year, Glen hunted down used kitchen equipment at auctions, flipped what he didn’t need, and slowly pieced together the setup required to serve breakfast right. The day finally came when he had everything in place.
Three months ago, The Spot 371 officially started serving breakfast.
And it took off.
So much so that his first flat top grill was too small to keep up with demand. That’s when Glen, fresh out of the ER (don’t worry, he’s fine!), woke up at 1 AM, drove 12 hours round-trip, and brought back a bigger grill.
That’s dedication. That’s Glen.

Here’s a look at some of the local favorites:
Spot Skillet – Crispy hash browns topped with sausage, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and two eggs.
Three-Meat Omelet – Bacon, ham, sausage, and cheddar cheese, served with hashbrowns and toast.
Simple Spot – Two eggs, hash browns, toast, and your choice of bacon, sausage, or ham. (CAMP NISSWA FAVORITE)
Farmer’s Breakfast – Three eggs, hash browns, bacon (or sausage or ham), two pancakes, and toast.
French Toast – Thick Texas toast, golden brown and delicious.
And Glen’s personal favorite?
Loaded Hash Browns with Two Over-Easy Eggs. It’s not on the permanent menu—yet—but it’s been a customer favorite.
Glen stated - "Everyone raves about our hashbrowns because we cook them right. No shortcuts—golden, crispy, and made the way they should be. If they aren’t crunchy, they aren’t done."
What About Coffee?
The Spot 371 has a full coffee lineup to pair with your breakfast. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic coffee, latte, cappuccino, cold brew, or a chai latte, you’ll find it here.
Specialty options like the Pistachio Latte, Cinnamon French Toast Latte, and Toasted Campfire Latte bring something different to the table. And if you need a caffeine boost on the go, there are iced and blended espresso drinks as well. Looking for full coffee menu? Click Here
When to Stop By
Breakfast is served daily, but hours are different depending on the day:
Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Breakfast 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Breakfast 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
Sunday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (All-day breakfast!)
Glen has also been considering an all-day breakfast menu, since demand has been so high. As he says, 70–75% of people prefer breakfast all day, and it would allow him to focus on perfecting a breakfast menu unlike anything else in the area.
Stop In and Support Local
